About the course

Summer Journalism Training Course
For senior school students
(Open to students in high school - class 9 to 12)

DATES:

April 14 to May 9, 2008. Classes from 9 a.m. to 11.15 a.m.
Mondays to Fridays. (Sat & Sun. are holidays.)

VENUE:

Mylapore Times Centre at Corporation Shopping Complex, R. A. Puram

COURSE DETAILS :

About Newspaper Organisations, What news is all about, How Reporters work, Interviewing people and making contacts, gathering information, filing reports, editing, writing feature stories. TV and radio journalism. Writing for the Net, Blogging. Writing and producing in-house newsletters.

The course will be covered through lectures and daily field assignments. Media professionals from media organizations like The Hindu, The New Indian Express, Times of India, NDTV, Adyar Times, Mylapore Times, etc. will share experiences.

Participants will have to report and file assignments from day one. These reports and photos will be posted on a blog - www.mtjclass.blogspot.com (do visit this blog and get a feel of last year's workshop)

FEE and BENEFIT :

Rs. 2,000 (non - refundable).

All participants will be given certificates.
This workshop will be useful for those who plan to join a media course / to write freelance / get an introduction to journalism/media. It is co-ordinated by Vincent D' Souza, Editor, Adyar Times, Mylapore Times & Arcot Road Times.
