Blood donation camp held at Madras Boat clu

A blood donation camp was organised by the Madras Voluntary Blood Bureau on May 1 between 10am and 1pm at the Madras  Boat Club, R. A. Puram.  

Over 30 people turned up to donate blood.


The donated blood is used to treat poor children suffering from Thalassemia. 

Donors have to be aged between 18 and 65 years and weigh more than 50kgs. 

Doctors and nurses from the Blood Bank of Voluntary Health Services (VHS) hospital,Taramani were present to assist the volunteers.

"The donated blood is used for multiple transfusions for over 300 kids suffering from Thalassemia," said Dr. Rebecca, medical officer of the blood bank of VHS.
