A special pooja was held on April 30 evening at the Singara Velar Temple, 7th Trust Street, Mylapore.
30 people stood at the shrine to take part in the pooja and prayer.
Said the temple priest, "Today is Kirthikai and every month it is a day for Lord Murugan as it is his star sign. So a special pooja is conducted here."
